Canaries manager Liam Manning told BBC Radio Norfolk on Monday that it's no surprise to him that Sargent is being linked with top clubs, but that as things stand, no deal is over the line and he's a Norwich player until that changes.
âHeâs top, you see that, you see what heâs done in the division, but the consequence of that is naturally heâs going to be linked with clubs at a higher level," he said. "Weâll have to see how that pans out, but I canât speak highly enough of how heâs applied himself in training and how heâs gone about it.â
If the deal gets over the line, Sargent will become Wolfsburg's second addition from the English Championship this window, following Sheffield United's Vinicius Souza.
Internationally, Sargent will be looking to improve his stock with the national team by securing a top-flight transfer this summer ahead of the FIFA World Cup next year.
