The <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/love-it-arsenal-mikel-arteta-oleksandr-zinchenko-ben-white-heated-exchange-nottingham-forest/bltfb7fe761ef6e6e5e#cs050f255d3c9cf1f8" target="_blank">Gunners duo got involved in a heated argument</a> on the pitch after the club's 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest earlier this week. The defenders had to be separated by the coaching staff and other players, although manager Arteta ruled out any friction within the squad. The Spanish boss even joked about the incident and claimed that White and Zinechnko shared a very close bond.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Speaking to reporters about the incident, the manager said, "Yeah… They’ve been in the same house the past few days sharing wives and everything! It’s fine they’re living together now. They’re best mates. You don’t argue with someone if you don’t have a great relationship. That happens because you have the trust and chemistry with somebody to react the way they did."

WHAT MIKEL ARTETA SAID

The narrow win over Forest reignited Arsenal's title ambitions as they are now tied on points with second-placed Manchester City and are five points behind league leaders Liverpool. After ending 2023 on a poor note, the north London side came back strong in January, winning all the three matches they played.
