    At 15 years of age, the hottest of prospects cannot complete a move to England until he turns 18. That will happen in September 2027, at which point the youngster will be cleared to finalise a deal that is worth an initial $5 million (£7m).

    For now, the youngest player to feature in a MLS fixture - having made his debut at the age of 14 years and 293 days - remains on the books of the Philadelphia Union. They are hoping to benefit from his obvious potential over the next couple of years.

    Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said: “Understand Manchester City are planning for talent Cavan Sullivan to begin training in July, work in progress with Philadelphia Union. Sullivan, developing very well and seen as one of best young players worldwide. He will officially join Man City in 2027.”

    Pep Guardiola is busy piecing together long-term plans at the Etihad, with City in need of a refresh following an uncharacteristically testing 2024-25 campaign. Sullivan will form part of those plans at some stage, by which point he should have the experience under his belt that allows an immediate impact in the Premier League to be made.
