Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Premier League clash, Guardiola explained why Haaland was kept out of the team as he said: "Yesterday after training he didn't feel good. During these nine years, we played many seasons without really important players and we survived. This season, we have had a lot of injuries and we could not survive, but in specific games, we have to do it."
When further pressed on when the Norwegian could return to action, the manager added: "He improved but he didn't feel good. Hope so [against Spurs]. But we'll see. He'll come back when he feels good."
The Spanish also revealed that tests were conducted on Haaland's knee to find out the extent of his injury.
