  • WHAT HAPPENED?

After his team's loss in the Champions League on Wednesday, Bellingham was seen waiting outside the Liverpool dressing room until Ryan Gravenberch emerged to swap shirts with him - giving the England star Trent Alexander-Arnold's jersey. Oddly enough, Bellingham only seems to give Gravenberch a white sweatshirt instead of a Madrid jersey. Upon realising, the Dutch midfielder looks back and laughs.

Bellingham gestured towards two young Madrid players during the clip, leading some to believe he was getting Alexander-Arnold's shirt for one of them. However, supporters have still mocked the 21-year-old.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Alexander-Arnold was an unused substitute in the Anfield clash, having just returned from a hamstring injury. Bellingham, meanwhile, had a quiet game and could do little to prevent his team from suffering a third loss in the competition this season. Madrid are 24th in the Champions League table with six points, occupying the last spot for the play-offs.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold were on opposing sides for the midweek game this time around, but they could soon be team-mates at Madrid amid reports the European champions are determined to sign the right-back.
