On screen as well? Ted Lasso favourite returns as ‘producer & writer’ after ‘emotional goodbye’ that left everybody longing for Season 4

It has been announced, after several months of speculation, that at least one more series of the popular Apple TV+ show will be produced. With a “reboot” being set in motion, it has been suggested that another three seasons could be brought to the small screen.

Jason Sudeikis is steering the ship, as he plays the character of Ted Lasso while doubling up as a writer, and he will be coaching in the women’s game this time around. New characters and storylines are ready to be introduced.

A number of familiar faces are also on board, with a contract option being taken up on Goldstein. He is giving little away, though, after being asked how prominently he will figure in the world of AFC Richmond.

Goldstein, who plays foul-mouthed player-turned-pundit Kent, told USA Today when quizzed on his role behind and in front of the camera: “What I can say is I'm back in a professional capacity as an executive producer and writer.”

Goldstein has remained coy amid the constant questions of a potential return for Ted Lasso, but claims to have always believed that another series would be lined up. He added: "I cried and we had such an emotional goodbye. But I do think a part of me thought this wasn't the end. I just felt like it's such a lovely world. It sort of felt like surely there'll be a way to do more.

“I guess I then thought maybe it isn't going to happen. So then when it was happening, I was like, ‘Ah, wonderful.’ But I wasn't completely surprised, because I think in my heart I thought there'd be more.”

There has been no word as yet regarding a release date for Season 4 of Ted Lasso. Production is ready to begin, though, and fans around the world are delighted to be in a position where they can ‘Believe’ once more.
