The Express now reports that the Cityzens are considering offering the midfielder a new contract after he miraculously recovered right on time ahead of the Club World Cup in the US. The Spaniard's current contract runs for another two years, but the new deal will keep him at Etihad Stadium until 2029. The new deal will also see a significant rise in his current pay of £200,000-a-week, as Rodri is likely to pocket a salary of more than £300,000-a-week.
The Cityzens had a disappointing season as they went trophyless, only the second time since Pep Guardiola took charge of the club in 2016. They lost to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final and finished third in the league behind Liverpool and Arsenal.
