  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    In February, the Premier League was handed a huge blow after City won their court case disputing the top division's sponsorship rules over the last three years, which have been declared null and void. A tribunal, made up of three senior legal figures in Sir Nigel Teare, Lord Dyson and Christopher Vajda KC, sided in favour of the English champions.

    Per The Times, the Cityzens are now likely to force the Premier League to pay their hefty £20m legal fees, which the club incurred for appointing a legal team comprising of Lord Pannick KC and Paul Harris KC. A separate hearing will now be conducted to determine who pays what amount, although the English top-flight are set to defend the case strongly.
