Mamelodi Sundowns are in Dar es Salaam for Saturday's Caf Champions League quarter-final, first league match against Young Africans at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.According to Tanzanian publication, <a href="https://www.thecitizen.co.tz/tanzania/news/sports/questions-as-al-ahly-mamelodi-bring-own-food-and-drinks-to-tanzania-4572510" target="_blank">The Citizen</a>, the Brazilians arrived with their food and beverages, fearing to be poisoned by their hosts.The Citizen also reports that Egyptian giants Al Ahly also travelled with their own food supplies as they prepare to face Simba SC in another Champions League Last-eight match.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Tanzanian clubs appear to be carving a grim reputation for employing dirty tactics in continental club competitions.About two seasons ago, ex-Orlando Pirates co-coach <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/news/simba-sc-how-orlando-pirates-must-take-responsibility-for-their-own-actions-after-ncikazi-complaints/blt7637813bff558451" target="_blank">Mandla Ncikazi was sanctioned by Caf</a> after making remarks suggesting that Simba were using underhand tricks in the Buccaneers' Caf Confederation Cup visit to Dar es Salaam.Jwaneng Galaxy coach Morena Ramoreboli also suggested that Simba might have poisoned his players.

Earlier in March, Ramoreboli also made statements suggesting their Champions League group stage opponents Simba sabotaged them.“We arrived in Tanzania in the early hours of Wednesday morning," Ramoreboli told Soccer Laduma."On the menu, there was a variety of food, and they didn’t make the mistake of not including various fruits."On Thursday, we had those fruits, with different foods that were also available on the menu that day, there were no complaints," he added."I did not eat on Friday, I only drank juice, but when I woke up the following day it was as though I was drunk.“About five players could not wake up on matchday as the doctor tried everything to assist," the Free State native continued."Meaning on Friday, we don’t know what, but something was done to the food. Not only for the players, but also for the members of the technical staff.“We don’t really know what happened. We tried to speak to the management of the hotel before about suspicion of food poisoning, only to realise that something had already been done to the food. Unfortunately, we don’t really know what they did and who did that to the food," he concluded.

The Brazilians will be hoping no major incidents happen in their visit to Tanzania.That would be needed in their camp going into such a crucial match undisturbed.
