Liverpool dealt Jarell Quansah buyback clause blow as details of Bayer Leverkusen transfer emerge
Liverpool won't be able to exercise their buyback clause for Jarell Quansah until 2027 as official confirmation of his move to Bayer Leverkusen approaches.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds' option to bring Quansah back to Merseyside won't kick in until 2027, when it will be worth more than €60m. That means the young defender will have to play two seasons with Leverkusen before he can potentially return to Liverpool as a more rounded player.
DID YOU KNOW?
Quansah featured in 13 Premier League matches as Liverpool claimed the title under new boss Arne Slot, though only four of those appearances came as starts, two of which came in the final weeks of the campaign when first place was already wrapped up.

WHAT NEXT FOR QUANSAH?
Quansah will soon have his transfer to Leverkusen made official, though he won't get the chance to play with many of the stars who made their historic 2023-24 Bundesliga title triumph a reality. Both Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong have joined Liverpool, while Jonathan Tah made the move to rivals Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
