Kylian Mbappe offered iconic No.10 shirt at Real Madrid after Luka Modric's exit with French striker set to follow in footsteps of Luis Figo & Mesut Ozil
Kylian Mbappe has reportedly been offered the iconic No.10 shirt at Real Madrid, as he follows in the footsteps of Luis Figo and Mesut Ozil.
The World Cup winner inherited No.9 at Santiago Bernabeu when becoming another ‘Galactico’ in the Spanish capital during the summer of 2024. He took that jersey from fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema - who had departed Madrid a year earlier.
Mbappe’s debut campaign in Spain saw him register 43 goals across all competitions, helping him to the Liga Golden Boot and European Golden Shoe. He missed out on major honours while picking up UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup crowns.
Modric has filled that jersey since 2017, while it has previously been worn by the likes of World Cup winner Ozil, Portuguese superstar Figo, Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf and Danish legend Michael Laudrup.
