Kyle Walker admits he would swap Man City Premier League medal for Tottenham trophy as ex-Spurs right-back reveals he was 'nervous' for Europa League final

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    England international Walker spent eight years with Spurs after joining them from Sheffield United in 2009. He formed part of squads in north London that finished second in the Premier League and reached the League Cup final.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    He was unable to help Tottenham break a barren run on the silverware front that stretched back to 2008. They finally got over that line in 2025 when seeing off domestic rivals Manchester United in the Europa League final.

    Speaking on his Kyle Walker Podcast, the veteran full-back said of that contest: "That’s the first time in a long time I was nervous, and I wasn’t even playing!" Walker would have loved to form part of the celebrations that followed.

    He would even go as far as giving up a medal earned at the Etihad Stadium. Walker said: "I'd probably give up one Premier League, not the first, to have won that with Tottenham." He added: "I know what it means. I'd probably give my second. It’s hard to give one away, but for what that moment meant. To be in that Spurs squad that won a trophy…"

    Walker - who played alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dele Alli at Spurs - left north London in 2017 and has gone on to win six Premier League titles with City, alongside Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup honours.
