Sky Germany reported earlier this month that a delegation from Dortmund arrived in England to hold transfer talks with Sunderland and Bellingham. But the BILD now reports that Dortmund could face competition from Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt, who are also keen on signing the midfielder this summer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Eintracht Frankfurt will have an advantage in the transfer race if they manage to get a point in their final game of the 2024-25 campaign against SC Freiburg on Saturday and secure a slot in the Champions League next season. Also, if Bellingham moves to Frankfurt, he will avoid comparisons with his elder brother Jude, who spent three glorious seasons at Dortmund before heading to Real Madrid in 2023.
DID YOU KNOW?
In the case of Dortmund, the opportunity to play in the Club World Cup next month could lure the young English midfielder. However, for that, the German giants need to confirm his signing during the mini transfer window that will be open between June 1 to 10. Bellingham is unlikely to take a final call on his future before Sunderland's Championship play-offs final against Sheffield United on May 24.
