In an interview with Tuttosport, Llorente, who was present at the game against Villareal in the Champions League this week, expressed his admiration for the youngster’s style of play, going as far as to say that Yildiz would have made him an even better scorer.
"With the foot he has, he would have helped me a lot. Someone like him would have helped me score even more goals. He's improving year after year, with every match confirming his worth and boosting his self-esteem: that's crucial for a young player. He reminds me of Del Piero, but the comparison is still too far-fetched for me," Llorente said.
"He moves like Laudrup, who was one of my childhood idols. [Johan] Cruijff's Barcelona was my source of footballing inspiration, so I've always been impressed by talent. By those who imagine things before they happen."
