Ronaldo hit the post with a first-half effort before missing late opportunities in Al-Nassr's 3-2 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale. He was then spotted remonstrating with himself on the pitch.

Al-Nassr's defeat means they are set to go trophyless once again this season, with Al-Ittihad six points clear at the top of the Saudi Pro League with five matches to play. Al-Ahli will take on Kawasaki Frontale in the Champions League final.

It has at least been another successful season for Ronaldo individually, with the former Real Madrid and Manchester United star scoring eight goals in the Champions League and sitting as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League with 23 strikes.
