WHAT EMMANUEL PETIT SAID
It was, however, when discussing his time with the Gunners under Arsene Wenger that Petit experienced an unfortunate slip of the tongue. While reflecting on some of his experiences at Highbury, which saw him become a Premier League title winner, Petit said: “He had some fights with Pat Rice as well, rest in peace Pat.”
HOW SKY SPORTS RESPONDED
Sky were quick to acknowledge that error, with MNF host Jones saying on air: “I’ve got some good news, Pat Rice sends his best. He’s not actually no longer with us. He’s alive and kicking.” Petit went on to say: “I’m sorry! Sorry Pat. I’m confused. I’m so sorry Pat. Pat, I made a mistake, sorry.”
