  • WHAT HAPPENED?

According to Estadio Deportivo, Celta have reached an agreement with Zaragoza's camp to move ahead and negotiate a deal with the German club. Although the Spanish side have accepted Bayern's demands, the Bundesliga champions are taking their time as they hope to receive a bigger transfer fee for the Spanish winger, complicating Vigo's situation.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bayern's proposed deal to Vigo was to sign him on loan for €2 million with a mandatory purchase clause of around €12-€15m (£10m-£13m/$14m-$17m). The Spanish side have accepted the German club's demand, but Vincent Kompany's side are hoping to make more money with a number of teams still interested in the winger. Bournemouth have since stepped into the race to sign Zaragoza, further putting pressure on Celta.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Bayern signed Zaragoza in 2023, joining the club earlier than originally planned to cover for the injured Kingsley Coman. The 23-year-old failed to impress Kompany, though, and was loaned to Osasuna last year, where he scored six goals and provided two assists in 21 games for the club.

    WHAT NEXT FOR ZARAGOZA?

Celta, however, are in a better position as they have a verbal agreement in place with the player, who is also looking to move to Spain instead of trying out the Premier League. The Spanish club have also qualified for the Europa League, which further tempts the ex-Granada player.
