Indeed, Mundo Deportivoare now reporting that a key meeting has been scheduled to take place after the Champions League semi-final second leg clash against Inter next week to address Flick's renewal.

When Flick signed for Barca last year, he agreed a deal until the end of the 2025-26 season. The club are now eager to ensure Flick extends his stay, although the former Bayern Munich manager isn't believed to be too keen on signing a long-term deal that ties him down for too long. It would appear that a happy medium has been reached and a contract will be agreed until June 2027.

A decisive meeting between Flick’s agent, Pini Zahavi, and Barcelona officials is set to take place between the Champions League semi-final second leg and El Clasico, which will be played on May 11. While a full agreement is expected, both parties will delay any announcement until Barca’s season concludes, aiming to avoid distractions.

The league leaders will take on Real Valladolid on Saturday, May 3, before they visit San Siro for the return leg next Tuesday, May 6.
