Arsenal wages: Who is the best paid player at the Gunners and everything you need to know about Arsenal's salary bill

Arsenal under Mikel Arteta have been an intriguing side. While there has been clear progress, with the Gunners falling agonisingly short of the Premier League title in recent seasons, they are yet to capture a major trophy under his leadership.

One constant, however, has been the club's financial strength. Arsenal are among the teams with the highest net spend in the Premier League. This financial commitment has allowed the club to invest heavily in top talent, including players like Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus, in their pursuit of domestic and European glory.

Such high-profile signings, however, come with significant wage demands, reflecting the club's ambition to assemble a squad capable of competing at the highest level.

Which begs the question: who is the highest earner at Arsenal this season? And who is on the opposite end of the spectrum?

GOAL delved into the numbers from Capology and found out!

    Goalkeepers

David Raya is the outright highest-earning goalkeeper at Arsenal, making over £5m annually. Despite that, he is not among the highest-paid players at the club.

Apart from Raya, the Gunners currently have just one more senior custodian in their ranks: former Juventus and Barcelona goalkeeper Neto, who is earning half as much as Raya.

    NameSalary
    David Raya£5,200,000
    Neto£2,600,000

    Defenders

Most Arsenal fans would argue that William Saliba is not only their best defender but also 'the' top centre-back in the Premier League. Given his exceptional performances, it’s hard to find a Gooner who would dispute that he deserves to be the club's highest-paid defender. Earning around £10m annually, Saliba ranks among the highest-paid defenders in England.

Unexpectedly, though, Saliba's centre-back partner Gabriel Magalhaes is not the second-highest paid Arsenal defender, with the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori, and even the often peripheral figure Kieran Tierney all earning more than the Brazil international.

    NameSalary
    William Saliba£9,880,000
    Oleksandr Zinchenko£7,800,000
    Ben White£7,800,000
    Riccardo Calafiori£6,240,000
    Kieran Tierney£5,720,000
    Takehiro Tomiyasu£5,200,000
    Gabriel Magalhaes£5,200,000
    Jurrien Timber£4,680,000

    Midfielders

As expected, club captain Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice are the highest-paid midfielders at Arsenal, both earning over £12m annually.

Thomas Partey is the only other midfielder at the club with an eight-figure salary, while Mikel Merino and Jorginho earn more than £6m and £5m, respectively.

    NameSalary
    Martin Odegaard£12,480,000
    Declan Rice£12,480,000
    Thomas Partey£10,400,000
    Mikel Merino£6,760,000
    Jorginho£5,720,000

    Attackers

Surprisingly, Bukayo Saka is not Arsenal's highest-paid attacker — that distinction goes to Kai Havertz. In fact, even Gabriel Jesus earns more than Saka.

Gabriel Martinelli, who plays on the opposite flank, isn't far behind in terms of wages. Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling and Leandro Trossard are the lowest-paid attackers, though Sterling's salary is still notably high on paper.

    NameSalary
    Kai Havertz£14,560,000
    Gabriel Jesus£13,780,000
    Bukayo Saka£10,140,000
    Gabriel Martinelli£9,360,000
    Raheem Sterling£8,450,000
    Leandro Trossard£4,680,000

    Top 5 highest-paid Arsenal players

The top five highest-paid players at Arsenal are closely grouped, with Havertz leading the list as the club's highest earner.

Jesus, despite struggling with form and fitness for much of his time at the club, holds the second spot in terms of wages.

Rice, Odegaard, and Partey complete the top five, leaving fans to wonder why key players like Saka and Saliba aren't featured higher on the list.

    NameSalary
    Kai Havertz£14,560,000
    Gabriel Jesus£13,780,000
    Declan Rice£12,480,000

    Thomas Partey£10,400,000

    Top 5 lowest-paid Arsenal players

35-year-old goalkeeper Neto is the lowest-paid player at the club, and rightly so, given that he features the least for head coach Mikel Arteta.

Surprisingly, Jurrien Timber and Raya also make this list, with the other two spots filled with Kiwior and Trossard.

    NameSalary
    Neto£2,600,000
    Jakub Kiwior£3,016,000
    Jurrien Timber£4,680,000
    Leandro Trossard£4,680,000
    David Raya£5,200,000
