Tempting fate?! Arsenal reveal plans for open top bus parade if they beat Manchester City to Premier League trophy amid nail-biting title race

Arsenal are nearing the end of their tight 2023/24 Premier League title race with Manchester City. The Gunners currently sit atop the league table, one point clear of Pep Guardiola's defending champions, who have played one game less. It is likely that the champions will only be crowned on the last matchday of the season on May 19 and the North Londoners have scheduled the celebratory parade on May 20, as per The Daily Mail.

Despite sitting in the lead of the Premier League, Arsenal do not hold all the cards as they will still need City to drop points in at least one of their last three games of the campaign, against Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham. Although Arsenal's plans for a trophy parade may appear premature, they are necessary because numerous operational requirements, including road closure notices, must be arranged well in advance. Given the likelihood of the title battle going to the last day, 24 hours won't be enough time to resolve matters.

As per The Daily Mail report, Arsenal's trophy parade is scheduled for Monday, May 20. The parade would start at the Emirates at 5pm local time before making the trip via the Islington Town Hall and back to the stadium.

On the last matchday of the season, Manchester City will take on West Ham while Arsenal host Everton. If all results up until then go their way, and they win on the final day, the Gunners would celebrate winning the league title for the first time since the 2003/04 season.
