  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Arsenal drew 1-1 with Everton on Saturday, as Leandro Trossard's opener was cancelled out by Iliman Ndiaye's penalty in the second half. The spot-kick was awarded after Lewis-Skelly fell and brought Harrison down in the area, but fans do not believe the decision was correct.

  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

@Bhavs said: "They’re now giving penalties for Arsenal players being pulled down in their own box. I’m done with this shit."

@Charles_Watts added: "Finally seen a replay of the penalty incident. So, so soft. If anything it looks like Harrison fouls Lewis-Skelly first and then just falls over once he gets into the box."

@HandofNwaneri said: "I'm not even surprised by these poor decisions anymore, i've become accustomed to them."

@Sven1280 wrote: "How did VAR not overturn this decision? This is what VAR was brought in for. Totally useless."

@Andy_Whitty concluded: "This ain't football. @FA_PGMOL have ruined the game."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Lewis-Skelly has enjoyed a remarkable rise this season and has even worked his way into the England squad by virtue of his performances this season. Under Mikel Arteta, he has made 28 appearances this season, scoring once.
