Antony 'closing in' on Man Utd exit! Real Betis finalising terms of loan deal after £85m flop agrees to leave Old Trafford

The 24-year-old and the Spanish club have been in talks over a loan move until the end of the season, and Fabrizio Romano reports that terms are being discussed to finalise the temporary transfer. The deal will not have an option for Betis to buy him outright and United will cover part of his wages.

The move away from Old Trafford has been a long time coming for Antony, who has failed to live up to the hype since joining from Ajax in 2022. He has made just 13 appearances in all competitions this season and only three of those - two in the Carabao Cup and one in the Europa League - have been from the start.

Antony has been tipped to leave on a permanent deal away from the Red Devils amid his disappointing performances for the Premier League team. He had been linked to Greek giants Olympiacos, but it seems a temporary switch to Spain is on the cards for now.

If the loan deal goes through before the end of the January transfer window, the ex-Sao Paulo star will hope to restore his reputation by shining for Real Betis between now and the end of the season.
