WHAT HAPPENED?
Bissouma's absence in the first match of the season was a result of an internal disciplinary measure after he posted a video of himself inhaling laughing gas on social media. His off-field behaviour led to a brief suspension, but Bissouma returned to the pitch determined to make amends and redeemed himself with a 14th-minute strike, giving Spurs an early lead.

Postecoglou made light of the situation, joking that he might have to impose another ban on Bissouma if it leads to more goals.
Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, Postecoglou humorously remarked: "I'm going to ban him next week and bring him back! It seems to work. He is a fantastic player. He was a key contributor today."
The comment was delivered with a smile, but the underlying message was clear: Bissouma is a valuable player for Tottenham, but his path to redemption requires more than just a goal. He further emphasised that Bissouma still has work to do, both on and off the pitch, to become the best version of himself.
"It's a good start," the Australian said. "He's still got work to do. I'm not doubting his footballing quality. We want to make him the best version of himself. That starts off the field as much as on it. We know Biss is a good footballer. It's about him being the best version of himself and he will only get there if, as we've spoken a few times, discipline is a big thing for him and I thought it was a disciplined performance for him today you know.
"Not just the goal he scored, but he had a really important job for us. He knew they'd sort of play fairly direct and he had to be there to mop up second balls and intercept things and he was clean for the most part in possession. So good performance."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Postecoglou also expressed optimism that scoring could become a regular part of Bissouma’s game. "It was a heck of a finish," the manager said. "No, I'm not surprised because like I said, there's no doubt in his ability, you know. He has that ability to do something special. But, you know, he needs to make sure that he does everything, as I said, he tries and endeavours to do everything right on and off the field to give him the platform to show who he could be as a footballer.
"We certainly believe in him, we’re certainly giving him an opportunity. But as I said before the game, that's just not a never-ending thread, at some point you need to cut it. And it's really up to him to keep going on."
