The pair then figured in England’s run to the final of Euro 2024, where the Three Lions suffered more trophy heartache against Spain. They have struck up a strong bond while representing their country, and are holidaying alongside one another in the United States.

It was previously revealed that Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson tried to talk Bellingham into joining Liverpool when an exit door swung open at Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old midfielder headed to Spain instead, and the tables have now turned.

Alexander-Arnold is into the final year of his contract at Anfield, and has seen a switch to Santiago Bernabeu speculated on. The Mirror has acquired footage of the Reds right-back heading out for dinner with Bellingham in LA – with future talk potentially on the agenda there.

Liverpool are expected to discuss terms with academy graduate Alexander-Arnold at some stage, as they open a new era under Dutch coach Arne Slot, but he will be able to discuss pre-contract terms with any suitors outside of England from January if the decision is taken to head towards free agency.
