Mason Greenwood continues impressive form with goal and assist to inspire Marseille to comeback win over Rennes as Ligue 1 returns after winter break

After Rennes took the lead late in the first-half, Greenwood ensured the sides went in level at the break when Michael Murillo's low cross found him in in the middle of the home team's box for a simple finish. Then, early in the second half, Greenwood charged down the right, cut in and sent a deadly ball onto the head of Adrien Rabiot for what turned out to be the winning goal.

Greenwood is Marseille's top scorer with 11 goals and three assists in 17 appearances in Ligue 1 since joining from Manchester United. The Englishman has played a crucial role in helping Roberto De Zerbi's side reach second in the table.

Marseille have won six and drawn one on their current unbeaten run in all competitions, lifting De Zerbi's men to just four points behind Paris Saint-Germain, who face Saint-Etienne on Sunday.

Marseille are next in action on Tuesday when they meet Lille in the Coupe de France. Five days later, they take on Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
