Manchester United have already kicked off the summer window by sealing a ÂŁ62.5 million ($85m) deal for Matheus Cunha and remain hopeful of adding Bryan Mbeumo and Joao Palhinha to their ranks. However, head coach Amorimâs recruitment drive is being throttled by financial constraints, and the club must sell before they can continue spending. The Red Devilsâ plans are being stalled by their inability to offload high-earning players, as per The Mirror.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Jadon Sanchoâs ÂŁ250k-a-week wages are blocking a permanent move, with Juventus and Napoli only open to loan deals. Marcus Rashfordâs preferred switch to Barcelona looks unlikely as the Catalan side looks likely to pursue Nico Williams instead, leaving his future uncertain. Antony is attracting fresh interest following a strong loan spell at Real Betis. Still, while Como and Bayer Leverkusen have been linked, the Brazilian only wants to return to Los Verdiblancos, who canât afford a permanent transfer this summer. United are said to be eager to cash in on the 25-year-old but may be forced into another loan.

Rasmus Hojlund, meanwhile, wants to stay and fight for his place under Amorim. Inter Milanâs loan-to-purchase proposal has collapsed, and the 22-year-old now looks set to remain, unless a sizeable offer lands on Unitedâs desk, in which case the Red Devils will jump at the opportunity to sell. With no major outgoings yet, Amorimâs rebuild is being held back by a tight budget and too many unsettled stars.

WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD?
United will continue working to engineer exits for Sancho, Antony, and possibly Rashford to free up budget space and reignite their transfer plans. Alejandro Garnachoâs name has also been floated, but reports suggest that Amorim would prefer to keep the Argentine. With Amorim keen to overhaul the squad, much of the clubâs summer business hinges on unlocking sales, and the clock is already ticking.
