'Highs and lows' - Erling Haaland sends end-of-year message after finally rediscovering goal-scoring touch against Leicester following birth of first child

City secured a morale-boosting 2-0 win at Leicester City on Sunday in the Premier League, with Haaland ending his run of four games without a goal. Not long after manager Pep Guardiola let slip the striker's partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen had recently given birth, the 24-year-old took to social media to reflect on 2024's "highs and lows".

He tweeted: "Highs and lows but always with these guys. We keep pushing together in 25’ Cityzens! 🙌🏻🩵."

The struggling defending champions secured just their second win in their last 10 Premier League games on Sunday, as Haaland grabbed his 19th goal of the season in all competitions. The Norway international will hope he can recapture his best form, that City make a habit of winning again, and life as a father goes swimmingly in 2025.

Haaland will target getting on the scoresheet again when fifth-placed City host 13th-positioned West Ham on Saturday in their next Premier League encounter.
