Chelsea aiming to wrap up Jamie Gittens signing 'very quickly' as Borussia Dortmund aim to sell for less than release clause after quiet second half of 2024-25 season

The Blues are keen to make another forward signing before the Club World Cup begins next week, after Jadon Sancho's loan spell from Manchester United came to an end. Bild in Germany report that the deal could move rapidly this week.

It had initially been reported that Gittens' release clause sits at roughly €67m. Bild state that the figure is much higher than €60m - but that Dortmund may still be happy to sell for around that amount after the winger's average performances in the second half of the 2024-25 season.

Bild add that Gittens is very keen on the move back to the club where he spent time as a child. He has informed Dortmund of his decision and looks set to leave the club he has scored 17 goals for in 106 appearances.

Gittens looks set to play in the Club World Cup whether a deal gets done before the initial transfer window closure on 10 June or not. Dortmund get their campaign under way against Fluminense on Tuesday 17 June, while Chelsea kick off against Leon the day before.
