'He's a wonderful player' - Cesc Fabregas confirms Dele Alli is training with Como as he bids to make top-flight return after Everton struggles

Alli admitted he was leaving Everton earlier this month for "exciting opportunities" elsewhere. The 28-year-old began individual training with Serie A side Como earlier this week and now manager Fabregas has heaped praise on the attacking midfielder - who was once one of the brightest young talents in the game.

He said, via Fabrizio Romano: “He’s training with us now, Dele’s feeling good. He’s a wonderful player. If we can help him, we’re more than happy. At the moment, he’s only training with us."

Dele has had a difficult few years, with spells at Everton and Besiktas doing nothing to breathe life into his struggling career. The former England international will hope he return to his best and has even targeted a spot in the Three Lions 2026 World Cup squad.

Former Tottenham star Dele is likely to have a keen eye on how Como get on in their final 2024 match when they host fellow Serie A strugglers Lecce on Monday.
