Juventus star Lehmann took to social media to wish departing teammate Cantore all the best after her transfer to NWSL side Washington Spirit was confirmed. The 25-year-old has signed a contract which will run until 2028 and will become the first Italian player ever to feature in the NWSL.

Cantore leaves Juve after scoring 38 goals in 128 appearances for the Italian giants, who she joined all the way back in 2017. She most recently helped the Bianconere win a domestic double, scoring in the Coppa Italia final against Roma.

Lehmann previously claimed Cantore could become one the world's best players, saying back in April: "She will become one of the best in the world one day. But she doesn't trust herself, but she, in the head: Wake up, wake up wake up."

WHAT NEXT FOR LEHMANN?
Lehmann will hope to be included in Switzerland's final squad for the upcoming Women's Euro 2025 tournament. She was named in the provincial roster by manager Pia Sundhage, with the final selection due to be made by the deadline of Wednesday 25 June.
