FIFA President Gianni Infantino acknowledged the existence of Tanzania international player Mbwana Samatta who plays in Belgium for KRC Genk .
Infantino said they picked Tanzania after being impressed by its campaign to fight corruption and the hospitality of its people whom he said wear smiling faces whenever he sees them.
The President Infantino said there is a progress in Tanzanian football and named Mbwana Samatta who plays for the Belgian top flight league, CRK Genk as the indication.
"I heard African best player from Tanzania Mbwana Samatta plays for Belgium club Genk, I think this is talented football country, it faces few challenges in Management but will settle soon,’’ he said.
Former Simba and TP Mazembe player Mbwana Samatta won the African player for the year in (2015) as TP Mazembe player before joining the KRC Genk club of Belgium that he currently playing.
