Reading send Ivorian midfielder Yakou Meite on loan

The Ivory Coast youth international heads back to France on a season-long loan deal for the 2017/18 season

English Championship side Reading have sent Franco-Ivorian attacking midfielder Yakou Meite on a season-long loan to French Ligue 2 side Sochaux.

Despite only arriving from Paris-Saint Germain last summer, the 21-year-old Ivorian youth international will head back to France for the 2017/2018 campaign.

Meite has struggled to make an impact at the Royals and was limited to just one start and 13 appearances off the bench by Jaap Stam in the recently concluded campaign.

His struggles for game time saw him shipped down to the reserves where he looked to be finding his feet, scoring four goals in eight appearances for the Under-23’s side.

Having completed the move, the Paris-born forward will now hope to get some regular game time under his belt.

The Madejski Stadium outfit recently announced the signing of another African, South African international midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo.
