Middlesbrough boss Pulis waits on Assombalonga ahead of Ipswich Town clash

Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis is hoping that Britt Assombalonga will be fit for their English Championship game against Ipswich Town on Tuesday evening.

The 25-year-old suffered a knock in their 1-1 stalemate with Hull City on Saturday, although he played with the injury and lasted for the entire duration.

However, the forward missed the Smoggies’ recent training session but his coach is optimistic that he would shake off the setback ahead of their tie with Paul Hurst’s men.

“Britt's the only other one [injured]," Pulis told club website.

"He's had a kick early in the game and played on with it. He couldn't train yesterday so we'll wait and see."

Assombalonga has been a consistent fixture for the Riverside Stadium outfit this season, featuring in all their league games and scoring four times, including his strike against Hull City last weekend.

Middlesbrough are third in the league standings after garnering 19 points from ten games.
