Lobi Stars’ ambition of qualifying for the quarter-final of the Caf Champions League was dealt a huge blow after losing 3-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Goals from Thapelo Morena, Themba Zwane and Lebohang Maboe were all the South Africans needed to send the Nigerians out of the competition with a game to spare.
The result leaves Solomon Ogbeide’s men at the base of Group A with four points ahead of their last game against ASEC Mimosas – which counts for nothing.
