Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava expects a tough battle against Everton

Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava is expecting a tough outing against Everton when both sides clash in a friendly on November 7 at the Goodison Park.

The Kenyan champions won a ticket to represent the East African region in England after lifting the Super Cup.

And as they prepare to face off with the former English champions for the second year running, Shakava has, however, assured the fans that the team will give absolutely the best knowing that they face a side that narrowly ran away with a slim victory in their maiden clash last year in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

"It is going to be a tough match for sure; we all know where Everton is and where we are. But that does not mean we are not going to fight for a good result, we will give absolutely everything to ensure we make our fans proud. Players are looking forward to it, and you can feel that fighting spirit in them.

"Nobody expected us to even score a goal when we faced them last year, good preparations will be key."

The Toffees are currently placed in the ninth position on the league log with 15 points.
