Boakye eyeing Conte reunion at Chelsea

Reportedly a top transfer target of English Premier League side Chelsea, Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom reveals he would love to link up again with Blues boss Antonio Conte.

After catching the eye of Italian giants Juventus while on loan at lower tier side Sassuolo, the Ghanaian was snapped up by the Old Lady, who then had Conte as manager, on a co-ownership deal with Genoa in 2012.

His fine form this season has put him on the wish list of a host of top clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Celtic, according to speculations, but the Blues appear to be in the driving seat, all thanks to their manager.

"There is a lot of talk. Until you sign a contract, anything is possible," Boakye told TMW.

"Conte wanted me and brought me to Juventus from Sassuolo.

"I’ll always thank Conte. When I was loaned to Elche, he called me and told me to remember that I had the qualities.

"For a 19-year-old boy, it is great encouragement. If Conte wants me, I’m happy to link up with him again."

Boakye's scoring form makes him one of the hottest strikers in Europe this season.

In 12 matches in the Serbian topflight so far, the 24-year-old has raked in 12 goals, having also netted six times in 12 appearances in the Europa League.

The Agogo-born was also once on the books of Atalanta, Roda JC and Latina.
