Rayon Sports coach Ivan Minnaert warns Gor Mahia ahead of Caf Cup clash

Rayon Sports head coach Ivan Minnaert has warned Gor Mahia ahead of Caf Confederation Cup Group D opening duel on Sunday.

Rayon Sports will host K’Ogalo at the Kigali Regional Stadium in Nyamirambo and the former AFC Leopards tactician has expressed optimism to pick all the maximum points in the opening round.

“The chase for the ticket to quarter-finals starts Sunday, and we can’t afford a false start. Like in all our home games, we are going to do everything possible to get a win.

“I have no fear for Gor Mahia,” Minnaert told New Times .

“The target is to win as many games as possible. All the three home games are a must-win and then we fight hard for away points.”

The Belgian’s chances of picking a win at home have been boosted by the return of midfielder Pierrot Kwizera and forward Caleb Bimenyimana.

The duo missed the return-leg against Mozambique’s Costa do Sol in the play-off round in Maputo.

Minnaert is the first coach to have guided Rayon Sports, the first Rwandan club to reach group stages in any Caf Competition.
