Delhi Dynamos' sorrowful run continue and coach Miguel Portugal thinks luck is the reason for it

Delhi Dynamos' woeful run continues as they were battered 4-0 by Mumbai City FC away from home. In spite of an awful display against the Islanders, coach Miguel Portugal vehemently defended his boys and instead blamed lack of luck in front of goal for the team's misfortunes.

"We played well but didn't score which is the most important. If you can't score, it's nothing because football is about winning. The striker in my team isn't lucky," said Portugal, after the game.

But he acknowledged that being the second best team on the pitch repeatedly is cause for concern as a head coach.

"Losses are very hard for the coach. If we win ahead then things will be good. This is a match today that we lost," lamented Portugal.

But the former Real Madrid B coach was infuriated with the red card awarded to Matias Mirabaje after the scuffle with Sehnaj Singh, who was also sent off along with the Uruguayan.

"Matias didn't deserve the red card. I didn't see such a situation on the television. I don't know what was the equation. The referee can only justify that because he sees things which I can't see from afar," said the Spanish coach.

After the loss to Mumbai City, the Northern outfit sits last on the league table with a meagre three points. But head coach Portugal remains confident that he will continue to be at the helm of Dynamos.

"I started this project and I will finish it," signed off Portugal.
