Hearts of Oak assistant coach Odoom promises improved performance against Medeama

Hearts of Oak assistant coach Edward Odoom has admitted that criticisms from the club's supporters are valid since they've been poor in the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians lost to regional rivals Inter Allies on Thursday, condemning them to 12th position with 16 points.

However, they will welcome table toppers Medeama to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and the coach is hopeful of overturning their poor run.

"We've had a tough campaign but everything will be under control soon. We will do our best to win our next game," Odoom said.

"Injuries have become our biggest concern this season because many of our top stars have constantly missed crucial games and it has affected us. We're several points behind leaders Medeama but since they will be coming to our home this weekend, it is a golden opportunity to end their incredible run and close the gap.

"The supporters have every right to be angry because we have been inconsistent but the results will improve and they will have something to smile about especially in the second half of the season," he added.

Goal understands that Hearts top hierarchy will likely appoint a new coach for the second round of the league if they fail to win against Medeama.
