Bolaji Sakin: I made the right decision to play in Guinea

Horoya FC of Guinea midfielder, Bolaji Sakin believes he made the right decision going to the Guinean league after helping his team to the quarter-final of the Caf Champions League and a place in the FA Cup final.

Sakin played for Abia Warriors and Rivers United before leaving for Guinea last season and after completing almost completing a season in the west Africa nation, the player said he has not made any wrong decision and would have done a similar thing in the same situation.

“I can’t say that I made any wrong decision because of what people said when I moved to Guinea. It was my sole decision and I would still have done something similar in the same circumstances," Sakin told Goal.

“I am convinced I made the right call and I am happy with it. I played for a club that got to the quarter-final stage of the Caf Champions League but the two Nigerian representatives were eliminated before the group stage. I am enjoying my football and I have developed more confidence since I came to Guinea.

“I will continue to do my best to ensure that I give my best to this club. It was a fun-filled first season and I am looking forward to playing the last game which is the final of the Guinean FA Cup. I hope to go on break after that game before we will reconvene again for the start of the pre-season.”

Sakin will have the opportunity to end the season with silverware when he steps out for Horoya FC against Wakriya FC in the final of the Guinean FA Cup on October 5.
