Allan the perfect fit for Brazil - Sylvinho

Brazil assistant Sylvinho has hailed new Brazil international Allan as the perfect fit for the Selecao.

Napoli star Allan is hoping to make his international debut next month on the Brasil Global Tour after Friday saw him named in the squad for matches against Uruguay and Cameroon.

And Sylvinho believes the smart-passing 27-year-old who had an outstanding season under then-Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri last term is exactly what modern Brazil are looking for in their midfield.

"We have to monitor players who appear in Europe," said Sylvinho, who was impressed with Allan's displays under Sarri. "We always need to do constant monitoring.

"As for Allan, he has been in Europe for seven years. He played with Sarri and had a very important function to connect the play. He's a dynamic player and has adapted very well to this function.

"Sarri had a model that is very similar to ours. With Ancelotti it has changed a bit, but for us it has not."

Coach Tite went on to confirm that former Vasco man Allan, who has been in Italy since 2012, had been on the Selecao’s radar for some time.

“He deserved it, we had been monitoring him for a long time,” said Tite.

“Allan is good in transition, going box to box, leading counter attacks and breaks. He’s mobile and brings protection defensively.”
