South Africa recovered from a poor start in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/afcon-2023-winners-and-losers-after-the-round-of-16/blt3541972fa868123e" target="_blank">to make it into the last eight</a>. They fought bravely on Tuesday to eliminate the 2022 Fifa World Cup semi-finalists and favourites Morocco to set up a date with Cape Verde.

WHAT HAPPENED

"I think we will be ready for the game [on Saturday]; we don’t underestimate Cape Verde," Broos said in a pre-match presser. "Okay, they are not the same team as Morocco with all the high-quality players who play in big teams in Europe, but what I saw... I think we don’t have to underestimate them. They have quality, it is a team with disciplined players on the pitch. They know their roles, it’s difficult to play against them."We are confident but on the other side, we know it will be tough. If you want to compare the Saturday game and Tuesday's I think there’s no difference. It will be as tough as Tuesday, and we already know."

WHAT BROOS SAID

Bafana have all their players available for the task at hand and are riding high in confidence after eliminating the Atlas Lions.South Africa aim to reach the semis for the first time since 2000, while the Blue Sharks are targeting their maiden semi-final appearance.
