WHAT HAPPENED?

“We are talking to a few clubs abroad,” Mpengesi told <a href="https://www.idiskitimes.co.za/dstv-premiership/chippa-breaks-silence-on-nwabali-rumours/" target="_blank">iDiski Times.&nbsp;</a>“We also believe that he needs something better, especially after&nbsp;the performance that he showed&nbsp;at the Afcon.&nbsp;"You know, being number two, they were runner-ups, he was number two, second best goalkeeper of Afcon," the Chilli Boys owner continued.“So if the opportunity comes especially abroad, of&nbsp;course&nbsp;even if it comes locally and the offer is for him, it’s not even for us. If the offer for him is&nbsp;better&nbsp;then we&nbsp;are not going to&nbsp;hold on to him.”

WHAT MPENGESI SAID

With Mpengesi saying they are ready to listen to local clubs interested in Nwabali, It is to be seen if Chiefs will make a move.Amakhosi have not been known to compete with European clubs for players the way Mamelodi Sundowns do.The Soweto giants are looking for a replacement for Itumeleng Khune whose future at the club looks uncertain.

Nwabali was back for Chippa and kept a clean sheet in their Nedbank Cup quarter-final match against TS Galaxy last weekend after missing the Kaizer Chiefs match.He is expected to guard goal in the Premier Soccer League trip to SuperSport on Saturday.
