Gor Mahia Coach Dylan Kerr fumes at his players after Sofapaka draw

Dylan Kerr has reacted angrily to a mediocre performance in a 3-3 draw against Sofapaka on Sunday.

Gor Mahia blew away a 2-0 first-half lead to settle for a point thanks to a late equalizer from Innocent Wafula.

Ezekiel Okare hit a brace after Kepha Aswani had cut Gor Mahia’s two-goal advantage after resumption only for Wafula to pounce on a loose ball that saved Gor Mahia from the jaws of a maiden defeat this campaign.

Kerr did not approve of the dismal performance with the infuriated Englishman accusing players of not following his instructions.

“My players have to show the desire to win every time. lt seems they are happy to accept poor play and poor goals conceded.

"Fair play to us, until last minute we didn’t give up but again, at 2-0 we didn’t kill the game off, we thought we’ve won and that allowed our opponents back into the game

“Leading 2-0 at halftime, I told my players to stop giving the ball away because Sofapaka would counter since we always want to score. They obviously did not listen."

Kerr in the meantime, hailed Sofapaka for their courageous performance even as he challenges his players have to show character in all matches.

“Fair play to Sofapaka. They didn’t give up and very poor defending cost us three goals,” Kerr told the official club’s website.

Despite the gruelling draw, Gor Mahia are still at the top with 31 points from 13 matches played.
