The U.S. national team is set to embark on a new chapter following the search for a new permanent manager and a chance at a fresh start following the failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup finals.
The USMNT is still miles away from asserting itself at the top of men's football, with even their women's team surpassing their male counterparts and having won three successive World Cups. By comparison, the USMTN have won no World Cups.
The search for a new head coach is underway and, with a young team led by young stars like Christian Pulisic and DeAndre Yedlin, the U.S. is set to play a slew of friendlies over the next few months as the side gears up to prepare for qualification for the 2022 finals.

USMNT jersey
The USA unveiled a new jersey in March this year and they were debuted in the 1-0 friendly against Paraguay, ahead of a World Cup tournament that the side would not be participating in.
They have light and dark versions of the uniform, both sporting the classic colors of the American flag and sporting a signature blue tint throughout the design.

Former Chicago Fire head coach Dave Sarachan is currently the Interim manager of the U.S. men's team while a search is underway to appoint a more permanent boss.
American coaches are dominating the list of potential successors, with U.S. national team general manager Earnie Stewart having kicked off the search for a new manager when he began his position on August 1.
Juan Carlos Osorio leads the list of foreign candidates, following the Colombian coach leading Mexico to the last 16 of the World Cup finals in Russia this summer. Though a round of 16 finish was not what El Tri supporters had hoped for the team, his efforts visibly raised his profile and six other national teams had asked about his availability following his announcement not to manage Mexico again.
Current Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has long been viewed as a more than suitable USMNT head coach but the Spaniard will be inclined to stay with the national team following a successful third-placed finish in Russia.
There is plenty of suggestion that the appointment of a head coach will not be for some time, however, with a good chance that a current MLS manager will be chosen.
