Polo’s advice to Nuttall: Don’t return to Hearts

Former Hearts of Oak coach Mohammed Polo has advised current boss Frank Nuttall to quit the job following the Scotsman’s indefinite suspension by management.

The former Gor Mahia coach, who was appointed in February last year, has been asked to step aside temporarily, pending further investigations into his “unsporting and unethical behaviour”.

“It’s problematic. What has happened has tarnished his [Nuttall] image, especially with his job,” Polo said on Onua FM.

“I don’t know how a foreign coach will want to damage his image and the image of his club.

“Coach Frank Elliot Nuttall should not accept to come to join the team, even if he is found not guilty.

“The mere fact that there is such a huge allegation against him is dumbfounding.

“Whether the allegation is true or false, the mere fact you are suspended tarnishes your image.

“This is different from sack. Sacking is normal with coaches, even Kenichi [Yatsuhashi] was sacked.”

Hearts assistant coach Henry Lamptey Wellington has been asked to take over the club ‘until further notice’.

Polo coached Hearts between 2013 and 2014 before he was sacked after a run of poor results.
