WHAT HAPPENED?
PSV have announced that the versatile 23-year-old has suffered a serious knock. THE BIGGER PICTURE
Dest has impressed during a loan spell in the Netherlands this season, having been deemed surplus to requirements by La Liga giants Barcelona. He has registered two goals and seven assists, while taking his tally of senior international caps to 33.
With Dest – who helped the USMNT to CONCACAF Nations League glory in March – ruled out, the likes of Joe Scally, Shaq Moore, DeAndre Yedlin and Reggie Cannon are poised to battle it out for a now vacant right-back berth in Gregg Berhalter’s plans.
