    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gyokeres has remained silent on his future, however, and A Bola reports that he has told his representatives to keep all transfer talk away from him until after Sporting's Taca de Portugal final clash against Benfica this weekend. The Portuguese outlet says Arsenal are the frontrunners in the race, having already offered him a deal that would see him net £7 million, per year. Gyokeres has a €100m (£84m/$113m) release clause in his contract, though O Jogo reports Sporting are willing to let him go for a lower fee.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

United remain strong challengers to sign the 26-year-old, whom Amorim worked with at Sporting, though they are already set to wrap up the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and are in talks to land Ipswich striker Liam Delap.
