    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Muller will be nearing Bayern after the Club World Cup ends, given that his contract with Die Roten expires. He already has offers from The Black and Gold Falcons as well as fellow MLS outfit FC Cincinnati, although he has reportedly rejected advances from the latter. Despite strong interest from LAFC — who are Bayern's partner club — reports from Germany have revealed that the move is not yet in advanced stages.

  • WHAT STEVEN CHERUNDOLO SAID

Speaking in an interview with BILD, Cherundolo said: "Of course I'd be happy if he came. Thomas is a perfect fit for us with his personality, his experience, his class, but also with his mentality. Anyone who thinks Los Angeles is only about the weather and the show is seriously mistaken. We want to win titles. And Muller knows how to do that.

"Thomas understands the game like no other. This position behind the striker suits him – and would work for us, too, and he would help us a lot. But we'll talk about that when the time comes."
