  • Giggs steps down from Salford City job

Giggs left his position at Salford, where he had been supporting Karl Robinson on matchdays as well as overseeing football operations, as per The Sun. Giggs hasn't held a managerial job since 2022

The Manchester United icon has been out of management since stepping down as Wales boss in 2022 having taken leave for the previous two years. He later admitted it was “heartbreaking” not to lead his country at Euro 2020 after qualifying them for the tournament. With his former Salford ownership role also ended, Giggs now appears determined to fully focus on a coaching comeback.

  • Giggs revealed managerial desire in January

“I had the stint as Wales manager and loved it,” Giggs said earlier this year. “Eventually, I’d like to get back into management. On matchday, I still get as excited as ever, probably more than ever.”

Surpise Man Utd move on the cards?

Giggs is expected to pursue managerial opportunities in the coming months as he looks to restart his career. While links to Manchester United remain speculative, his name could surface for vacancies across the English leagues. As for the Red Devils, they continue to back struggling Ruben Amorim; however, the Portuguese coach could be shown the door if performances don't improve.
